Insights and scoring

Read an insight as a structured research lead, not as a standalone forecast.

Direction and score are only the summary. Before drawing a conclusion, review the company, context, exposure, method, confidence, and reasoning. These fields explain what is affected and why TraceGraphs connected the evidence to that company.

Score and direction

The sign of the score indicates modeled direction: positive suggests favorable impact and negative suggests adverse impact. Absolute magnitude represents estimated strength, so −0.8 is stronger than −0.3. Scores are comparative research insights, not probabilities or expected percentage price changes.

Confidence

Confidence describes support for the interpretation, independently of impact strength. A strong score with low confidence should be treated as a high-impact hypothesis that needs verification. High confidence does not guarantee that an outcome will occur.

Derivation methods

  • Direct impact links evidence to a company that is explicitly affected.
  • Market exposure links a company through a market, industry, geography, product, or other connected exposure.

Direct impact is usually the shorter evidence path. Market exposure can reveal indirect effects, but its assumptions deserve additional review.

Use the filters

  • Time influence controls which evidence contributes and how strongly age matters.
  • Direction isolates favorable or adverse interpretations.
  • Method separates direct effects from connected market exposure.
  • Minimum |score| removes weaker insights regardless of direction.
  • Sort by score for magnitude or confidence for evidentiary support.
  • Search matches company names, context, exposure, and reasoning text.

Good review practice

  • Confirm that the underlying source is credible and current.
  • Look for corroborating claims from independent sources.
  • Check whether the stated exposure is material to the company.
  • Compare conflicting positive and negative insights in the company profile.
  • Treat all outputs as research assistance, not investment, legal, or policy advice.
